We had the most incredible experience with Ethan and his team at the Curacao store! Not only did I buy a pair of wedges and espadrilles for myself, but for Christmas gifts too!!! Such incredible customer service and the shoes are EXQUISITE! I had to size up one size because I have big feet but I am obsessed with the quality and the staff at the store! Ethan didn’t know this but husband and I had received some sad news the day before and our simple interaction completely lifted our spirits and we are forever grateful for his kindness and humor! Next time we are on the island we will definitely be back!
I had no idea what to expect, but this was an amazingly fun and surprisingly educational experience! I learned about the history of espadrilles and had the chance to choose and decorate my own pair. The staff were adorable, encouraging, and endlessly patient while I made my choices. I had a terrific time and thought my shoes came out beautifully -- in fact, I couldn't resist buying another pair of custom sandals as well. But it was the people who made this experience special. I can't wait to bring my daughter to shop and create here!
My friend Dee and I - from South Africa- booked the morning yesterday - 17th July 2025- for the Espadrille workshop. We had a fabulous experience from the moment we stepped into the colourful shop. We were met and tutored by the very lovey Caterina with flowers in her hair-or nickname Katie Perry😉🤣. We learnt how to design our very own espadrilles- with a lot of patience from Caterina! There was a lot of fun and laughter throughout the morning- a great experience and one which should not be missed.
Ha sido una experiencia totalmente genial. Desde inicio a fin, es una actividad muy bien organizada y cuidada al detalle. En nuestro caso acudimos en Valencia y lo recomiendo a todo aquel que desee pasar un par de horas aprendiendo a realizar una actividad con mucha historia ligada al lugar en qué se encuentra. Un diez para Tere y Cata que lo han hecho de maravilla. Sin duda repetiré.
What a fun experience! When arriving the ladies were full of energy and enthusiasm, which made us feel more than welcome.
I really enjoyed the mini history lesson given about the shoes, as it was delivered in a fun and engaging way.
We were not committed to just one shoe there were still upgrades and many colors to choose from. The instructors were helpful, but not standing over us. When mistakes were made they were willing to get you back to where you were that was correct.
Finally the pride we had in making and designing our shoes was unmatched. The shoes we made are beautiful and I cannot wait to wear them at home this summer!!
An absolutely wonderful workshop! My daughter (19) and I had a great morning learning about espadrilles and making our own unique pairs. The staff that worked with us were excellent and so helpful and really made the experience enjoyable. Fantastic!!!!
My mom and I had SO much fun at the Handmade the Brand experience in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This was both of ours first time doing anything remotely like this and we felt incredibly supported throughout the process. There was fun, there was laughter, there was champagne! Samira and Alani were awesome facilitators, and I was even able to get a pair of hand painted espadrilles for my husband as a gift! To the wonderful artist or if whoever responds to this knows the name of the artist who hand-painted my husband's shoes please post it because they also deserve their named kudus as well! Highly highly highly recommend this experience!
Wondering around old town San Juan and came upon the most amazing shoe store where they customize your shoes. They were so very helpful and the end product which was a beautiful butterfly on my shoe. They even went above and beyond and delivered the one of a kind shoes to my hotel! I highly recommend the product and their service! Thanks to all the workers at the store and to Kathe for the design!

We had so much fun creating our own unique espadrilles! Pilu & Pame were so enthusiastic - they made it easy for us and really increased the positive energy in the room. We learned a lot, had a lot of laughs and came away with a wonderful memento of our time in Barcelona. Bonus: we also learned a few dance moves and have a new appreciation for cava. 😃 Thank you!!
100/100 amazing experience!! I was lucky to be the only one for that session and I had the best time with Pilu. She was loving, fun and enthusiastic. She introduced me all the history behind espadrilles and was super patient teaching me how to make them. Wine and some tapas was also prepared as a surprise! I thoroughly enjoyed my lesson. What a great way to kick off my trip in Barcelona :))

Pilu was such a fun teacher! I was the only sign-up for the workshop the day I went, so I got a lot of one-on-one instruction. Pilu was nice enough to teach in Spanish for me so I could practice. I loved getting to pick the music and introduce Pilu and her coworker to American country music. There were great snacks, sweet and savory, and for me lots of non-alcoholic options as a nondrinker. I love my new shoes and the free keychain Pilu threw in my bag for me!
Luis and Kathe are the perfect hosts for this experience. They are friendly, unique, warm and just overall you feel at home in their shop. Very organized and well use of the time. After finishing my first pair of espadrilles, I wanted to make a second one. This is a must do experience!!!

It was a very nice experience ! We were expecting a lot and it fulfilled our expectations. We could chose the perfect espadrille for us, they explained a lot about the history and how to perform the movements. I recommend it !
I bought this experience for my sister's birthday and she had a great time! She said the girls who taught her were very friendly and positive. She highly recommends to anyone who wants to have a unique experience here in Barcelona.
Pam was amazing from start to finish. She was patient, an excellent teacher and lots of fun. She’s also a very talented artist. In addition to the shoes I made, I ended up ordering and purchasing some of the leather ones she hand painted. I would definitely do this experience again if I’m ever in Barcelona and will recommend it to my friends!
These shoes are the most comfortable heels I own and they're a work of art! I get so many compliments, the perfect conversation starter. You'll love this experience. It was my daughter's favorite part of our trip.
This is my most memorable experience in Barcelona! I highly recommend it to anyone - and I mean anyone! We had a family group of 8 people aged 6 years to 83 years old and everyone loved it! Kathe, Pam and Luis are perfect hosts, the venue is beautifully designed and nestled in the Gothic quarter, the atmosphere FUN! It’s an incredible interactive experience with a bespoke souvenir! Get ready for music, laughter, entertaining information and wonderful staff! We all came away feeling like part of the family and we LOVE our espadrilles!!!
The instructor was fantastic and I learned plenty from her! This was a great way to get out, learn the area's culture, and create a unique one-of-a-kind shoe.
This is a must do in Barcelona! My mom and I had a blast making our own custom espadrilles. We were greeted right away and given mimosas. The entire experience was very personal and would recommend it to anyone.

Loved this experience! I booked it as a solo traveler and wasn’t sure what to expect, but the other guests were so kind and Pilu and Danielle were so warm and welcoming! They made it feel like a party, and we had a blast customizing our espadrilles, drinking cava, and singing along to great music. 10/10, and would do again!

Do it! This is an incredibly fun and educational experience. I would recommend this to anyone! My instructors were Gaby, Pilu, and Map, and they were so much fun in addition to being excellent story tellers. The little bites served were also delicious. If you are between this and another experience, consider this a must do!!
Luis and Kathe are absolutely adorable and so much fun! It was like hanging out with friends or your cool family members haha I had a great time, they did a great job teaching and entertaining and my shoes ended up BEAUTIFUL. I love them so much! I highly recommend to anyone, it is an extremely unique experience in which you also learn the history of espardeñas. Take 2 hours of your trip to experience this.
